trained at Austvadsholt. Guests are encouraged to share in this close relationship with all the horses, which is one of the key ingredients in making the Hekluhestar\u00a0<em>riding tour<\/em>\u00a0so special.<\/p><p><em>The Icelandic horse<\/em>\u00a0itself is uniquely well adapted to the varied and dramatic volcanic terrain. The horse has two additional gaits, the \u201ct\u00f6lt\u201d and \u201cpace\u201d, compared to other horse breeds.
