It includes, among other things, to ensure the reliability, confidentiality and security of personal information that the company works with in accordance with the Act on Personal Protection and Processing of Personal Information no. 90\/2018 (hereinafter referred to as pvl) and Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016\/679 of April 27, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as pvrg).<\/p><p>This privacy policy explains how processing is carried out, e.g. collection, registration, storage and sharing of personally identifiable information about individuals (hereinafter also &#8220;you&#8221;).<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Processing of personal data takes place mainly when individuals:<\/p><ul><li>book and stay at our hotel;<\/li><li>register and attend events held at the hotel;<\/li><li>contact the hotel via email, phone, social media or our website;<\/li><li>visit and view our website, www.landhotel.is;<\/li><li>register on Landh\u00f3tel&#8217;s mailing list.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>What personal information does the company collect about you and for what purpose?<\/strong><\/p><p>Emphasis is placed on the company working only with the personal information that is necessary for the purpose of the service provided by the company and its activities in other respects.<\/p><p><em>As usual, the company collects the following personal information:<\/em><\/p><ul><li>identity and contact information, e.g. name and social security number, address, nationality, email, phone number;<\/li><li>financial information, e.g. card\/payment information;<\/li><li>information related to booking and stay, e.g. booking number, room number, signature, special requests, e.g. in relation to diet, timing and length of stay;<\/li><li>conversations through social media;<\/li><li>footage from surveillance camera footage at the hotel (see policy on electronic monitoring);<\/li><li>other information provided in relation to each booking.<\/li><\/ul><p><em>The company processes personal data mainly for the purpose of:<\/em><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>process bookings and take care of guests&#8217; stay at the hotel;<\/li><li>prepare and manage events held at the hotel;<\/li><li>conduct marketing and perform analytics;<\/li><li>take care of property and security, e.g. through surveillance cameras (see Electronic Monitoring Policy);<\/li><li>respond to inquiries, complaints and praise from individuals;<\/li><li>book tours for individuals with specified entertainment companies booked through the hotel.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Legal basis for the processing of personal information by the company<\/strong><\/p><p>The company ensures that when processing personal data, all the provisions of Article 8. pvl, cf. Article 5 pvrg, fulfilled.<\/p><p>In addition, the company always relies on the sources stipulated in Article 9. pvl, cf. Article 6 pvrg but these authorizations apply to the following processing of personal data:<\/p><ul><li>To fulfill contractual obligations, cf. 2. tl. Paragraph 1 Article 9 pvl. This authority applies in particular when individuals book a stay at the hotel;<\/li><li>to fulfill a legal obligation, cf. 3. tl. Paragraph 1 Article 9 pvl. This authority applies in particular in relation to data covered by accounting law;<\/li><li>to protect the legitimate interests of the hotel, cf. 6. tl. Paragraph 1 Article 9 pvl. This authorization applies in particular in connection with camera surveillance of the hotel for security and asset protection purposes, together with the collection of arrears;<\/li><li>on the basis of consent, cf. 1. tl. Paragraph 1 Article 9 pvl. This authorization applies in particular in connection with marketing materials that we send to individuals who have given their consent to such. Individuals are always allowed to withdraw their consent, but individuals can unsubscribe from mailing lists by clicking on a link that can be found at the bottom of such mailings. However, the withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that took place while consent was present.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>How long does the company store personal information about you?<\/strong><\/p><p>The company stores personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose of processing personal data, cf. the above discussion. For example, it can be mentioned that personal information generated by electronic monitoring of surveillance cameras is deleted within 30 days (see policy on electronic monitoring) and accounting information after seven years have passed, cf. accounting law no. 145\/1994.<\/p><p><strong>When does the company share your personal information with third parties and why?<\/strong><\/p><p>The company does not sell your personal information. The company communicates your personal information to third parties only when this is required according to law. The company only shares your personal information with third parties when this is necessary to protect the urgent interests of the company, e.g. during the collection of a default claim.<\/p><p>The company&#8217;s privacy policy does not cover the information or processing of third parties. We have no control over and are not responsible for the use, publication or other works of third parties. We therefore encourage you to familiarize yourself with the privacy statements of third parties, i.e. on m. the web host of the pages that can refer to us, Teya financial company in electronic payment processing and software companies such as Facebook, Instagram and Google.<\/p><p>In certain cases, the company communicates personal information to processors according to processing agreement in that regard. Such parties provide services to the company, e.g. in the administration of bookings, analyses, information technology and electronic services. In the processing agreement with the processor, i.a. stipulates the obligation of the relevant party to ensure the security of the personal information he works with for the company and that it is not used for other purposes.<\/p><p><strong>Security of personal information that the company works with and notification of security breaches<\/strong><\/p><p>Security in the processing of personal information is important to the company and we have taken appropriate technical and organizational security measures to ensure the protection of your personal information in line with our policy on security. In the event of a security breach involving your personal data, and such breach is deemed to pose a high risk to your fundamental rights and freedoms, we will notify you without undue delay. In this sense, a security breach is considered an event that results in your personal data being lost or destroyed, changed, disclosed or unauthorized access to it.<\/p><p>Here, however, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the personal information you share with us on social media, e.g. The hotel&#8217;s Facebook page is considered public information and not under the control of the company, as the company has no control over such information nor is it responsible for its use or publication. If you do not wish to share that information with other users or the provider of the social media service, please do not share the information on our social media. We also encourage you to familiarize yourself with the privacy statements of these parties. Note that when you access the company&#8217;s Facebook page, it is possible that Facebook will place cookies on your device for analysis purposes.<\/p><p><strong>Your rights<\/strong><\/p><p>You have the right to:<\/p><ul><li>receive information about what personal data the company has registered about you and its origin, as well as information about how personal data about you is processed;<\/li><li>get access to the personal information processed about you, or request that it be sent to a third party;<\/li><li>your personal information is updated and corrected if necessary;<\/li><li>The company deletes your personal information if there is no objective or legal obligation to preserve it;<\/li><li>object if you wish to limit or prevent the processing of your personal data;<\/li><li>information on whether automated decision-making takes place, on what grounds such decision-making is based and a review of automated decision-making;<\/li><li>withdraw your consent that the company may collect, record, process or store your personal data, when processing is based on that authorization.<\/li><\/ul><p>If you want to exercise your right, you can send a written inquiry to booking@landhotel.is<\/p><p>You also have the right to file a complaint with Personal Protection if you see reason to do so.
